Understanding the Norwood Scale
The Hamilton-Norwood Scale is the standard classification system for male pattern baldness. It divides hair loss into seven progressive stages, from a full head of hair at Stage 1 to the classic horseshoe pattern at Stage 7.

Women's Hair Thinning
Ludwig Scale
The Ludwig Scale classifies female pattern hair loss into three stages. Unlike male pattern loss, it usually presents as diffuse thinning across the top of the scalp rather than recession. Women's SMP works with existing hair to create the appearance of greater density with no shaving required.
Ludwig 2
Moderate thinning. Noticeable parting width and scalp visibility at the crown. Very treatable with density SMP.
Ludwig 3
Advanced thinning. Significant scalp visible across the top. Women's SMP can create a real visual transformation.
